Simon Colliss

Simon Colliss has a diverse work experience in the field of aerodynamics. Simon is currently working at Zipline as the Head of Aero and GNC since December 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of Aerodynamics at Zipline from September 2021. Before joining Zipline, Simon worked at Tesla where they started as a Senior Aerodynamicist in August 2017 and progressed to the role of Staff Aerodynamicist in August 2018. Simon was then promoted to Sr Staff Aerodynamicist in February 2020 and stayed in that role until September 2021. Before joining Tesla, Simon worked as a CFD Aerodynamicist at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited from April 2014 to July 2017.

Simon Colliss completed their education in a systematic and progressive manner. Simon began their academic journey at the University of Cambridge in 2006, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they successfully completed in 2009. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Mechanical Engineering between 2009 and 2010. Striving for further specialization, Simon pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Transonic Aerodynamics at the University of Cambridge from 2010 to 2014.
