Shandy Brown

Shandy Brown is an experienced technology professional with a strong background in software engineering and project leadership. Currently serving as Head of Web/Services at Zitara Technologies since November 2022, Shandy has also held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Compology, where contributions included developing full-stack web features and architecting APIs to address waste and recycling challenges using IoT technologies. As a Principal Engineer at Hipmunk, Shandy implemented significant systems for image management and codebase improvements. Additionally, Shandy has experience as a freelancer, and founder of Geeky.net, as well as roles at VMware and J2X Technologies. Shandy's educational background includes an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Through entrepreneurial endeavors in board game accessory creation, Shandy has successfully run Kickstarter campaigns and continues to create custom, handmade products.
