Danny Boland

Danny Boland is a seasoned engineer currently serving as a Staff Engineer at ZOE, where responsibilities include developing an AI-based photo logging feature, implementing low latency search systems, and managing Kotlin/Spring Boot microservices. Previously held the position of Lead ML Engineer at Bloom & Wild, focusing on AWS data and ML architecture. As a Senior Data Scientist and Squad Lead at Skyscanner, Danny successfully led a multidisciplinary team and mentored direct reports. Early career experiences include enhancing Vodafone's analytical capabilities as a Data Scientist, offering consultancy services at Moodagent/Syntonetic, and conducting doctoral research on music retrieval systems at Bang & Olufsen. Danny holds a Ph.D. in Computing Science and a BEng in Microcomputer Systems Engineering from the University of Glasgow.
