Denise Angwin

Denise Angwin has an extensive work experience in the field of medical device software development and engineering. Denise currently holds the role of Vice President, Product Engineering at ZOLL Medical Corporation, where they lead a team of managers and engineers in developing software and conducting usability evaluations for Class 3 medical devices. Prior to this, Denise worked as the Senior Director of R&D, Software and Usability at ZOLL, where they focused on product quality, process efficiency, and leadership development. Before joining ZOLL, Denise held the position of Manager of Software Engineering at Thoratec, where they led a team in developing and testing software for Class 3 medical devices, implementing Agile methods to improve efficiency and transparency in the software development process. Denise also worked as the Director of Software and Image Processing at Reveal Imaging Technologies, where they led teams in developing software for aviation security systems with explosives detection capabilities. In addition, Denise has experience as a Senior Manager of Software Development at Mercury Computer Systems, a Member of the Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a Manager of Clinical Science and Imaging Scientist at Advanced NMR Systems, and a Senior Software Engineer at Philips Medical Systems.

Denise Angwin has a strong educational background with a focus on electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and management. Denise holds a Ph.D., M.E.E., and B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Denise has also completed ten courses towards a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management of Technology from Bentley University. Additionally, they obtained an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from MIT Sloan Executive Education. Denise is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2011.
