Tomson Karivelil is the Senior Director of Technology at Zoo Atlanta. Tomson has over eight years of experience in business management, leading R&D initiatives, and overseeing corporate IT groups. Prior to joining Zoo Atlanta, Tomson was the Associate Director of Technology at NewFields, an environment and civil engineering firm. Tomson was responsible for establishing budgets, monitoring P&L, and consulting with the board of directors on technology investments, operations decisions, and vendor contracts. Tomson also led R&D initiatives that encompassed areas such as robotics, application development, big data, remote sensing, analytics, geostatistics, video production, research, and document management. In addition to their work at NewFields, Tomson has also served as an operations coordinator, providing assistance to the COO related to legal reviews, audits, building expansions, and contract negotiations.

Tomson Karivelil has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Technology Management from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Computer Information Systems from the Georgia State University - J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Tomson is also certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and by the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
