Malu Celli

Malu Celli, PhD, currently serves as Vice President of Animal Care at Zoo New England, overseeing an annual budget exceeding US$4 million and managing various operational aspects, including animal welfare and training programs. Prior experience includes tenures as Curator at Calgary Zoo, where responsibilities encompassed the scientific management of 300 animals across 60 species, and Team Leader at Woburn Safari Park, supervising a diverse animal collection and managing staff. Malu began a career at Bristol Zoological Society, progressing from Presenter to Acting Senior Presenter, while also contributing at the Zoological Society of London. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Science and a Master of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from Kyoto University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Universidade de São Paulo.
