Joanna Barker is an experienced marine conservation professional currently serving as Programme Manager at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) since October 2012. With a focus on elasmobranch conservation in the East Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, Joanna co-founded the Angel Shark Project and has taken on various leadership roles, including Project Lead positions for initiatives in the Canary Islands and Wales. Joanna's previous roles include Senior Project Manager and Marine and Freshwater Project Manager, during which Joanna managed projects related to the conservation of fish species in the Thames and coordinated citizen science efforts. Educationally, Joanna holds a Master of Science in Marine Environmental Management from the University of York and a Master of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford.
