Francisco Javier Sánchez Carmona

Francisco Javier Sánchez Carmona has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Francisco Javier started their career in 2012 as an intern at Telefónica Research & Development, where they worked on cloud computing and video platform projects. In 2013, they co-founded CloudRoom, where they served as CEO and CTO, leading the development and implementation of a MOOC cloud platform.

In 2016, Francisco participated in the Mind the Bridge Startup School in Silicon Valley, building connections and developing business relationships. Francisco Javier also worked as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Lyra., an AdTech startup, overseeing the technology department.

From 2017 to 2018, Francisco worked as a Scrum Master at Fintonic, a fintech startup, leading a technical audit and implementing Scrum throughout the organization. In 2018, they served as the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Fiestify, a mobile application company, managing the technology and software development department.

Since 2018, Francisco has been working at zooplus, starting as an Engineering Manager and later becoming the Area Engineering Manager and currently the Head of Data Engineering. In these roles, they have been responsible for managing teams, promoting software engineering practices, and optimizing delivery.

Throughout their career, Francisco has demonstrated their expertise in software engineering, agile methods, and team management.

Francisco Javier Sánchez Carmona's education history includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Engineering with a focus on Cloud Computing & Big Data from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which they completed from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, they pursued an intensive course in Computer Science at Télécom Paris in 2014. In the same year, they attended a course on Startup Engineering at Stanford University, specializing in Computer Science and Software Engineering. In 2013, they participated in an intensive course at Technical University of Munich, focusing on Software Engineering, Agile Methodologies, and Team Management. Francisco Javier'sacademic journey started with a Bachelor's Degree in Informatics Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which they acquired from 2009 to 2014. Carlos has also obtained several additional certifications, including Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in July 2017 and a Certified LeSS Practitioner certification from LeSS in November 2021.
