David Pfeiffer is an experienced professional in the fields of image understanding, 3D perception, machine learning, and sensor fusion. Currently serving as the Manager of the Lidar Perception Team and previously as a Senior Software Engineer at Zoox since April 2017, Pfeiffer has a strong background in autonomous driving technology. From November 2011 to April 2017, Pfeiffer worked as a Principal Engineer at Daimler AG, leading projects focused on real-time computer vision and machine learning for fully automated driving. Pfeiffer completed a PhD at Humboldt University of Berlin in conjunction with Daimler AG, specializing in stereo-based scene representation for intelligent vehicles, after earning a Diploma in Computer Science from the same institution. Prior to doctoral studies, Pfeiffer was a Research Assistant at DLR from March 2006 to February 2008.
