Martin Tauc

Martin Tauc is currently a Lidar Engineer at Zoox, having previously held roles as a Senior Hardware Engineer for Optical Sensors at Latitude AI and Argo AI. Tauc's expertise includes the development of tools for automated lidar data collection and camera evaluation, and management of optical sensor infrastructure while mentoring junior engineers. Tauc's earlier career included consulting on entomological lidar technology at Open Sensory and conducting graduate research at Montana State University-Bozeman, focusing on lidar systems for insect studies and polarimetry for cloud classification. Tauc began a career in education as a Physics Teacher at Chicago Public Schools. Tauc holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman and a BS in Physics from the University of Oregon, along with additional coursework at Northwestern University.
