Josef Sanchez

Josef Sanchez is a highly experienced aerospace professional, currently serving as a Senior Payload Systems Engineer at Planet since December 2021. Prior to this role, Josef worked at Zoox from February 2019 to December 2021 in various capacities including Manager of Vehicle Verification and Validation, focusing on system design, mission assurance, and AI verification. Josef's experience also includes significant roles at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory from September 2013 to January 2019, where contributions were made to the Mars 2020 mission and the Low Density Supersonic Decelerator project. Earlier work experience includes a position as a Test Design Engineer at Aerojet Rocketdyne and roles at Cal Poly State University. Josef holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
