Mengyao Zhao

Mengyao Zhao is a Senior UX Researcher at Zoox since June 2022, with previous experience at Meta as a Senior User Experience Researcher, where research supported consumer and merchant payment products for WhatsApp India. Mengyao contributed as the first dedicated UX researcher for Uber FinProd, leading projects on Uber Cash and Uber Cards. Academic involvement includes roles as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at UC Irvine, where Mengyao conducted various design research activities and co-authored publications. Holding a PhD in Informatics from UC Irvine and a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction Design from Indiana University, Mengyao has a comprehensive background in user experience research, having also interned at Google and Xerox, among other companies.
