Christine Matthews

Christine Matthews is the current Chief Financial Officer at Zosano Pharma. Prior to their current position, they worked as an accounting and finance consultant for various companies.

Matthews started their career in January 2015 as an accounting consultant for a privately-held life sciences company. In this role, they managed the 3PL relationship for revenue and accounts receivable to improve reporting, analytics and policies and procedures. Christine also developed gross to net models for accrual calculation and analysis.

In 2016, Matthews became a key member of the ASC 606 revenue recognition policy development and implementation team. The following year, they managed the 11 entity consolidation process, currency revaluation, translation and analysis. In 2018, they assisted with general accounting and compliance, trained permanent accounting team and supported a 2-year audit and transition activities related to the acquisition by a public company.

From 2019 to 2020, Matthews worked as an SEC Reporting Consultant for a $50 billion public company. In this role, they prepared SEC filings and support for two spin-merge transactions.

Most recently, Matthews served as an SEC and Financial Analysis and Reporting Consultant for an Initial Public Offering. In this role, they prepared financial statements, management discussion and analysis and management compensation sections for a confidential JOBS Act S-1 filing; coordinated review with external counsel and auditors. Christine also performed financial modeling, forecasting and analysis of results for board of directors’ presentations. Additionally, Matthews developed policies and procedures for external financial reporting and compliance.

Christine Matthews completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Accounting.

Their manager is Steven Lo, President & CEO. They are on a team with Donald Kellerman - VP, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs, Kristina Warga - VP, Corporate Controller, and Lu Liu - VP, Technical Operations.
