Kelvin Yu

Kelvin Yu has extensive work experience in the engineering and compliance fields. Kelvin began their career in 2005 as a Student Electrical Engineer at Haessler Automated Systems. In 2005, they also worked as a Quality Engineer at CFM Corp, where they developed a Supplier Scorecard System.

In 2008, Kelvin joined CN as a Senior Systems Engineer in the Great Lakes Division Signals and Communications department. Kelvin later transitioned to the role of Signals Design Coordinator, where they designed, upgraded, and modified railway crossings and provided technical support for CTC locations.

In 2012, Kelvin took on the role of Course Facilitator at the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers. Kelvin provided course material and training to internationally trained engineers preparing for the PEO Professional Practice Exam.

Kelvin joined Hatch in 2016 as a Senior Project Engineer - Rail and Transit. During their time at Hatch, they worked on various projects, including the BHP-Jansen Mine Rail Line and the Metrolinx Eglington Crosstown LRT. Kelvin was also involved in the GO Transit Union Station Rail Corridor Joint Project Office, where they worked as a Project Engineer responsible for signal scheme planning and interface review.

Kelvin recently joined Zown as the Chief Compliance Officer in 2022.

Kelvin Yu completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto from 2003 to 2008. Kelvin also obtained a Real Estate Broker certification from OREA. In terms of additional certifications, Kelvin Yu became a Member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) in January 2020. Kelvin obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in January 2019. Kelvin Yu also became a Member of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers in May 2017. Kelvin earned the Real Estate Broker/Sales Agent certification from the Ontario Real Estate Association in December 2014, and in January 2012, Kelvin Yu obtained the Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng) certification from the Professional Engineers Ontario.
