David M. Sommer

David M. Sommer, PhD, currently serves as Lead Consultant Cyber-Security at Zühlke Group and holds a teaching position as Expert and module responsible at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW since January 2024. In addition, David M. Sommer acts as an Official Observer in the Committee on Artificial Intelligence for the Council of Europe, participating in discussions surrounding the regulation of artificial intelligence. Previous experience includes a decade at ETH Zürich as a Research and Teaching Assistant and an internship at Apple focused on privacy-preserving statistics aggregation in federated learning. David M. Sommer earned a PhD in Computer Science, as well as both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Physics, all from ETH Zürich.
