Julien Etienne

Julien Etienne has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Julien is currently serving as a Project and Product Manager at Zulzi, where they manage two software development teams comprising 26 developers and 3 testers. Julien is responsible for controlling the flow of work, prioritizing between operational activities and projects, liaising with Product Owners, and acting as a bridge between the development teams and the broader organizations of Zulzi and their client.

Prior to Zulzi, Julien worked as a Senior Project Manager at Britehouse, where they managed a portfolio of projects for various clients, including international banks and mining corporations. Julien guided the transition of the Professional Services team from waterfall delivery to SCRUM and advocated for Agile principles in the organization.

Julien also gained experience as a Consultant at Amaris and as an IT Project Manager at Médecins Sans Frontières Suisse - International Office. At Amaris, they served as a consultant, while at Médecins Sans Frontières Suisse, they managed the technical track of an HR program across 24 countries, engaging with stakeholders and monitoring progress.

Earlier in their career, Julien held various roles at Penta Consulting SA. Julien started as a Technical Support Specialist, assisting customers with various IT issues. Subsequently, they became a Technical Support Manager, leading a team of IT technicians and overseeing customer service requests. Finally, they served as an Operations Manager, responsible for the service desk, data center activities, and quality management.

Julien Etienne has an extensive education history in the fields of Agile methodologies, project management, and business IT. In 2019, they obtained the Certified SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager certification from Scaled Agile Inc. Before that, in 2018, they received the Certified SAFe® 4.5 Agilist certification from the same institution. In 2017, Julien earned the Professional SCRUM Product Owner certification from SCRUM.org, specializing in SCRUM practices. Julien also holds the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification in Project Management, obtained in 2012 from PRINCE2. That same year, they acquired the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Julien's education includes IT training as well, with the completion of the ITIL V3 Foundation & Service Operation program at the IT Training Academy in 2010. Furthermore, they achieved the Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC) designation in September 2017, and the ITIL Service Operation certification in November 2010. Julien's educational journey began in 2002 when they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Business IT from the School of Business and Administration of Geneva, Switzerland, finishing in 2005.
