Kevin Short has extensive work experience in the field of security and risk management. Kevin is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Zūm Rails, starting from June 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Ocean Payments Group as the President, where they provided security and payment consulting services. Kevin started at Ocean Payments Group in January 2021.

Kevin Short was the Chief Information Security Officer & Co-Founder at Versapay from November 2007 to June 2021. During their tenure, they oversaw corporate, cyber security, risk, and compliance functions. Kevin played a crucial role in developing banking and payment partnerships for Versapay across North America, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security requirements.

Before Versapay, Kevin worked as a Senior Security Architect at Bell from May 2005 to December 2007. Kevin also worked as a Siteminder Architect at Enbridge Pipelines from June 2004 to January 2005. In addition, they served as a Sun SuperComputer Specialist at TELUS from July 2003 to May 2004.

Kevin has also held senior security architect positions at Axia NetMedia Corp. from September 2001 to May 2003, TransCanada from September 2000 to July 2001, and Sun Microsystems from April 1998 to July 2000. Kevin started their career at Nortel Networks as a Team Leader/Senior UNIX Administrator from February 1996 to April 1998.

Kevin Short attended SAIT from 1995 to 1997, where they studied Computer Engineering. In 2005, they obtained a CISSP certification from ISC2 in the field of Computer Security. In 2006, they received a CISM certification from ISACA, specializing in Computer Security. Kevin's education continued in 2012 at the PCI Security Council, where they earned an ISA/PCIP degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.
