Anthony van Herrewege

Anthony Van Herrewege is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as a Senior FPGA and Firmware Engineer at Zurich Instruments since November 2021, focusing on FPGA and firmware design for Quantum Computing Control Systems. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Design Engineer at easics from November 2015 to October 2021, where Anthony specialized in software architecture and implementation for hardware-based Deep Learning IP, contributing to projects for clients such as the European Space Agency and Sony. Anthony also conducted PhD research at COSIC (KU Leuven) from August 2009 to January 2015, focusing on embedded security, culminating in a thesis titled "Lightweight PUF-based Key and Random Number Generation." Earlier, Anthony was a board member of the Flemish Engineering Student Union, enhancing IT infrastructure for over 2000 students. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Engineering Science (PhD) and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven, obtained between 2009 and 2015 and 2004 to 2009, respectively.
