Giancarlo Profenna

Giancarlo Profenna is an accomplished information security professional with over two decades of experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the VP and Global Head of Information Security Governance at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd., Giancarlo has developed global cyber and information security strategies, overseen key risk indicators, and managed regulatory compliance efforts. Previous roles at Zurich include Deputy of IT Governance, Risk and Compliance, and eGRC Lead for EMEA, where responsibilities encompassed IT governance, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration. Prior to Zurich, Giancarlo worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager, focusing on threat and vulnerability management, and founded The Profenna Group, offering technology consulting services. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Loyola University Chicago.
