Walid Salem

Walid Salem is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the insurance sector. At Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, from February 2014 to December 2023, Walid served as IT Lead - Applications and Development, responsible for defining IT Solutions strategy and overseeing application projects to enhance customer experiences. Previous positions include IT Lead, where strategic direction for Middle Eastern solutions was established, and IT Production Support Regional Manager, focusing on the delivery of business-critical applications in the region. Before Zurich, Walid worked at Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) from September 2006 to January 2014 in IT Project Management, enhancing insurance systems and participating in ERP implementation. Early career experience includes a role as a Software Application Developer at Software Technology Group from January 2003 to June 2005, contributing to system design and user training. Walid holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of Liverpool and a degree in Computer and IT Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
