Kara Forte

Kara Forte is an experienced educator currently serving as a High School English Teacher at Zurich International School since November 2023. Previously, Kara held the position of High School English and Humanities Teacher at the International School of Zug and Luzern from October 2022 to June 2023, where the focus was on facilitating student growth and building confidence. In an earlier role as Executive Director at Friends of the Cedar Foundation Tanzania (August 2016 - July 2020), Kara led initiatives to establish impactful partnerships and secure funding. Prior experience also includes teaching at the International School of Zug and Luzern from January 2009 to July 2016, where literacy instruction was designed for Early Years through Grade 5, and serving as Executive Director at the I Have A Dream Foundation in New York from August 1999 to September 2008, overseeing strategic planning and fundraising efforts. Kara holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) ABD in Education and Policy from Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Multicultural Education from California State University-Dominguez Hills, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from Boston College.
