Yash Verma

Yash Verma has had a varied work experience since 2021. In 2021, they were a Member, Welfare Team, Onboarding Mentor and Collaborator at Oppia Foundation. Yash helped in the build system migration from Gradle to Bazel and created new fragments which were wrapped inside their own activities in mobile. Yash also wrote documentation wiki for the organization and thought of new ways to help new collaborators. Yash was also a Senior Member at Axios, IIIT Lucknow, where they helped students and juniors learn tech, took sessions and classes on Android/Web/Open Source and organized hackathons and contests. In 2022, they were an Android Engineer at 0Chain, where they migrated and refactored the code to follow the MVVM architecture, used Dagger/Hilt for dependency injection for third party libraries and classes, and converted the figma wireframes to high quality xml layouts. Yash was also a GSOC contributor at Oppia where they designed and architected the whole ci/cd architecture for the builds, automated cherry picking workflow and auto-triggered builds for alpha, beta and test releases. Additionally, they were an Open Source Contributor at GNOME Foundation, where they added a new feature in the pathbar of Nautilus file manager and made the wireframe and program of the new button with Xml. Lastly, they were an Android Freelance Developer at BSHAPP, where they added support for multiple languages, used Jetpack Navigation with single activity and multi fragment architecture, and integrated REST api with Retrofit to make HTTP requests.

Yash Verma attended Cathedral College, Jhansi from 2016 to 2019, where they obtained their High School degree. In 2020, they began studying at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Lucknow, where they are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2024. In 2021, they obtained the Google Cloud Essentials certification from Google Cloud Skills Boost.
