Astrid van der Laan is a Principal Computational Designer at Zutari and Aurecon, where responsibilities focus on the research, design, and implementation of workflows and processes for civil engineering structures in international projects, utilizing computational design and BIM. Previously, Astrid held various roles at Boogertman + Partners Architects, including BIM Team Leader and Project Architectural Technologist, involved in research, staff training, and service coordination for major projects. Astrid began the career as an Architectural Technologist at Groborg and has experience as an Instructional Designer, developing e-Learning solutions. Astrid holds a BSc in Architecture and multiple degrees in Multimedia from the University of Pretoria.
