Dr.-Ing. Gunther Kegel

Dr.-Ing. Gunther Kegel has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the Pepperl+Fuchs Group. Dr.-Ing. Gunther began their career at Pepperl+Fuchs Mannheim in 1990 as the Head of Advanced Development, followed by roles as Development Manager of the Factory Automation Division and Head of the Factory Automation Division. In 1997, they became the Managing Director and Spokesman of the Management Board for Pepperl+Fuchs Mannheim. From 2001 onwards, Dr.-Ing. Gunther Kegel served as the Chairman of the Management Board of Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH and CEO of Pepperl+Fuchs SE.

Dr.-Ing. Gunther has also held significant positions in several industry associations. Dr.-Ing. Gunther Kegel was the President of ZVEI e.V., the Vice President and President of the VDE Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies, and the Vice President and Member of the Board of the Support Association for The Federation of German Industries (BDI). Additionally, they served as Chairman of the Automation Association in ZVEI e.V. and the Exhibitor Advisory Committee of Hannover Messe.

Dr.-Ing. Gunther Kegel is currently a Member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Messe AG, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Roto Frank Holding AG, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Hilger u. Kern GmbH, a Member of the Advisory Board and Co-publisher at atp magazin - Automatisierung und digitale Transformation, and a Vice President and Member of the Board of the Support Association at The Federation of German Industries (BDI).

Before starting their professional career, they worked as a Research Assistant with an academic degree at the Technical University of Darmstadt from 1985 to 1989.

Dr.-Ing. Gunther Kegel obtained their Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Elektrotechnik from Technische Universität Darmstadt, where they studied from 1980 to 1985.
