Joanna Arencibia, CMA, CTP

Joanna Arencibia, CMA, CTP has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joanna is currently serving as the Controller and Head of HR at zvelo, Inc. since November 2022. Prior to this, they were a Member at Chief starting from June 2022.

From 2009 to 2022, Joanna worked at Arencibia where they held various roles. Joanna started as a Prospect & Market Research Analyst, conducting research in the solar, solvents, and steel industries. Joanna secured numerous sales meetings and identified new opportunities for argon recovery. Later, they became the Controller and SVP of HR & Administration, responsible for creating and leading the accounting and HR departments. Joanna emphasized collaboration, ethics, and transparency in their role.

Before joining Arencibia, Joanna worked at Turtledove Alliance, LLC as the Director of Market Research & Analysis from October 2008 to June 2011. Joanna contributed to the development and implementation of the marketing plan for the sustainability marketing company.

Joanna also has experience working at CFP Board as a Communications Specialist from April 2006 to December 2007. Joanna managed Spanish-language media outreach for financial planning education events and secured media mentions and TV interviews.

Prior to their role at CFP Board, Joanna had a varied career. Joanna worked as a Business English Teacher, Translator, and Freelance Market Researcher from September 2000 to October 2005. During this time, they taught business English, conducted Spanish-to-English translations for various clients, including UNESCO, and carried out market research projects as required.

Throughout their career, Joanna has demonstrated a strong commitment to collaboration, ethics, and transparency in their roles, and their expertise spans accounting, HR, marketing, communications, and market research.

Joanna Arencibia, CMA, CTP has a strong educational background in science and business. Joanna obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from Cornell University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. In 2003 and 2004, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Deusto.

In addition to their degrees, Joanna has various certifications that highlight their expertise in different fields. Joanna achieved the Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) certification from the Certified Management Accountant organization in August 2017. Joanna also obtained the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification from the Association for Financial Professionals in February 2022.

Furthermore, Joanna has obtained several other certifications that showcase their diverse skill set. In October 2016, they became a RRCA-Certified Running Coach through the Road Runners Club of America. Additionally, they hold a Level-C2 (Maestría) DELE Spanish Diploma from Instituto Cervantes, which they obtained in August 2015. In November 2000, they received their TEFL Teacher Certificate from the ITC International TEFL Certificate program in Prague, Czech Republic. Lastly, they obtained the A2 - EUSKARAZKO KOMUNIKAGAITASUN-MAILAREN ZIURTAGIRIA certification from the Eusko Jaurlaritza - Gobierno Vasco in July 2021.
