Katia Salgado

Katia Salgado has held a variety of roles in the past seven years. In 2021, they began working as a Research Associate II and Research Associate at Zymo Research Corp. In 2020, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Riverside. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at California State University, Los Angeles, where they investigated the role and function of the Casein Kinase 1 genes in the fungus Candida albicans, generated and integrated multiple fused genes into the genome of Candia albicans, performed functional analysis, analyzed and interpreted data collected, and trained undergraduate students to develop research techniques. From 2017 to 2018, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at California State University-Dominguez Hills. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Server/Bartender at California Pizza Kitchen.

Katia Salgado began their educational journey at Fullerton College in 2014, where they studied Biology, General. Katia then attended California State University-Dominguez Hills from 2015 to 2018 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology: Microbiology. Finally, they earned their Master of Science in Biology, General from California State University, Los Angeles in 2020.
