Jon Kuchenreuther

Chief Scientific Officer at Zymochem

Jon Kuchenreuther has a diverse work experience in scientific research and development. Jon started as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001 and 2004. Jon then worked as a Micro-contamination Intern at Intel Corporation in 2002. Jon continued their research as a Graduate Researcher at Stanford University from 2004 to 2011, specializing in engineering systems for the expression and activation of metalloprotein catalytic cofactors. Jon defended their thesis in 2010. Jon also served as a Post-doctoral Scholar at UC Davis in 2011-2012, focusing on metalloprotein biochemistry and spectroscopic analyses. Jon later joined UC Berkeley and the Energy Biosciences Institute as a Post-doctoral Scholar from 2012 to 2015. During this time, they worked on metabolically engineering species of Clostridia for the production of new chemical products. Since 2014, Jon has been working as the Chief Scientific Officer at ZymoChem.

Jon Kuchenreuther pursued their higher education at both Stanford University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jon obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. Following this, they enrolled in Stanford University and completed their Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering between 2004 and 2010. The field of study for both degrees is unspecified.
