David Steinberg is an accomplished editorial manager and puzzle editor with extensive experience in the puzzle and games industry. Currently serving as the Editorial Manager for Puzzles at Andrews McMeel Universal since October 2017, David oversees various syndicated crossword features and manages a team of puzzle editors. David's previous roles at Andrews McMeel Universal include Lead Puzzle Editor, Puzzles and Games Editor, and Crossword Editor, during which time significant initiatives such as the Universal Crossword Equal Representation Project were implemented to enhance diversity in puzzle construction. In addition to a prolific publishing career as a crossword constructor for prominent platforms such as The New York Times and Zynga, David founded The Pre-Shortzian Puzzle Project, aimed at digitizing historical New York Times crosswords. An author of several puzzle-related publications, David holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science from Stanford University.
