Matthew Carlone

Matthew Carlone is an experienced engineer specializing in the development of medical devices, with a strong focus on plastics engineering and manufacturing processes. Currently serving as a Staff Engineer in Molding at embecta, Matthew oversees the design and implementation of tooling and manufacturing strategies for single-use medical devices, ensuring robust manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. Previously, as Principal Disposables Development Engineer at Zyno Medical, Matthew led the development of disposable devices, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to meet regulatory and functional requirements. Matthew's extensive background also includes senior roles at Olympus, CooperSurgical, and Covidien, where expertise in research, development, and engineering optimization was demonstrated across multiple projects. Matthew holds an M.S. in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a B.S. in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
