Nan Hou

Managing Editor at Zynx Health

Nan Hou, PhD, RN, is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of evidence- and experience-based interdisciplinary content across the care continuum and supervision of other content team members as Zynx Health’s managing editor.

Nan and the content team play an integral role in the foundation of Zynx, working to improve patient outcomes and financial performance through evidence-based care guidance. Collectively, Nan and the content team develop a strong content system that allows for timely integration of new evidence-based best practices into everyday healthcare delivery.

Nan joined Zynx in 2006 as a clinical content developer and was quickly promoted to a managerial role.

Prior to joining Zynx, Nan served as project director for an NIH-funded research center at Oregon Health & Science University, and as a clinical consultant for Pfizer Health Solutions. Nan’s clinical experience includes critical care, post-anesthesia care, ENT, neurosurgery, and neurology.

While Nan has spent most of her professional career within a hospital setting, she is also an active voice within the medical community. Nan has made many presentations at national meetings and was published in various peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Critical Care, Nursing Research, Quality of Life Research, and Circulation.

Nan holds both a Master of Science in nursing and a PhD from Indiana University.
