Disney-owned Freeform will need a new top exec to continue producing its own content after the departure of Lynn Barrie, per Deadline.

Barrie, who is leaving Freeform after three-years for an unknown opportunity, had served as the company’s SVP Original Programming and Development.

She is a veteran programming executive who joined Freeform from ABC, where she served as VP of Comedy Development, to replace an exec who had left for Netflix. While at Disney’s other television network she helped develop and produce comedy hit The Goldbergs. She also served as ABC Entertainment Group’s SVP Current Programming

Before joining Disney’s family of entertainment networks, Barrie worked her way up from Manager of Creative Affairs to VP Comedy Development & Creative Affairs at 20th Century Fox TV (now owned by Disney as well). While at the studio she managed live-action and animated series at oversaw the development of "Modern Family" and "Better Off Ted."
