Wilke is now the third former Amazon employee the video game retailer has pulled to build out its new executive team under the direction of board member Ryan Cohen.
Elliot Wilke will be the new Chief Growth Officer at GameStop starting in April, the company announced Tuesday. Wilke is now the third former Amazon employee that the video game retailer has pulled to build out a new executive team under the direction of board member Ryan Cohen.
Previous additions to the team are GameStop COO Jenna Owens, who worked as a fulfillment director at Amazon, and CTO Matt Francis who was the former Engineering Lead for Amazon Web Services.
At Amazon, Wilke most recently served as Director of Amazon Fresh stores, but also held several other director roles during his eight-year tenure at the company, including Director of Prime Pantry Business and Global Technology and Director of WW Private Brands. Before Amazon, Wilke spent 11 years at Proctor & Gamble, most recently working as Senior Brand Manager for its razor brand Gillette.
GameStop also announced two more hires alongside Wilke, both coming from Cohen’s old company, Chewy. Tom Petersen and Andrea Wolfe, both former VPs of Merchandising join GameStop in two similar roles.
