Instacart has revealed that it has appointed long-time Facebook executive Carolyn Everson as its new President.

Instacart has revealed that it has appointed long-time Facebook executive Carolyn Everson as its new President.
Everson will officially take over from current President Nilam Ganenthiran, who will become a Strategic Advisor to the CEO on September 7, 2021.
As President, she will report directly to the online grocery platform’s recently appointed CEO, Fidji Simo, who also joined the company from Facebook. At Instacart, Everson will be in charge of the company’s Retail, Business Development, and Advertising businesses, as well as oversee its People, Policy & Government Affairs, Legal, Partnerships, Instacart Pickup, and Care teams.
“At Instacart, partnerships and relationships are at the heart of everything we do. With more than 600 retail partners and thousands of advertisers helping power our marketplace, Carolyn's unmatched experience and authenticity will be a key driving force for our business as our teams prepare for our next chapter of growth," Simo said in a press release.
Simo went on to say that Everson will help Instacart reimagine its role in the future of food through new and expanded efforts around inspiration, personalization, and accessibility for its global userbase.
To accomplish this task, Everson will lean on her bevy of tech experience including over a decade at Facebook. Before she exited the company in June, she had been considered to be the social media titan’s advertising chief and was the executive who built and maintained many of the company’s relationships with major ad agencies.
Prior to the social media giant to help scale its digital ads platform, Everson the Corporate VP of Microsoft's Global Advertising Sales and Trade Marketing Team. She also spent almost seven years at MTV, where she served as the network’s COO and EVP of U.S. Ad Sales.
