Apple’s premium subscription streaming service Apple TV+ adds Zennen Clifton to its growing scripted development and programming team. Clifton joined the team in January, according to Deadline and will directly report to the Head of Development and Current Programming Matt Cherniss.
Clifton formerly worked as EVP of 3BD Networks at 3BlackDot, a Los Angeles-based digital entertainment studio, where he oversaw all direct-to-consumer content initiatives as well as 3BlackDot’s branded content studio.
Before that, he worked as VP of TV and Digital at MACRO, a digital entertainment brand driven by the voices and perspectives of people of color. He has previously teamed up with NBA All-Star Baron Davis to create No Label, a full-service production company that had projects picked up by Sony, Lionsgate and Amazon, according to Variety.
Apple TV+ also recently brought on board former Warner Bros. exec JP Richards as its Head of Film and Marketing strategy in January. Cherniss formerly worked as the Head of WGN America and has been with the team since 2017.
