BuzzFeed has named Amita Tomkoria as its SVP for Investor Relations as the digital media brand prepares to go public.
Tomkoria’s role gives her oversight of BuzzFeed’s global investor relations strategy. She will also serve as the company’s liaison with investors, analysts, and stakeholders to help build relationships with the investment community and communicate the company’s vision and financial performance.
Tomkoria is no stranger to leading investor relations as she joins from video game publisher Activision Blizzard. Prior to Activision, she held senior finance roles at GE, eBay, and Deluxe Entertainment. BuzzFeed Founder and CEO Jonah Peretti added that Tomkoria brings “tremendous experience from the worlds of media, entertainment, and e-commerce, which are all key elements of BuzzFeed’s diversified revenue model.”
BuzzFeed is gearing up to make its debut on the Nasdaq this quarter via an SPAC merger with 890 5th Avenue Partners that values BuzzFeed at $1.5 billion. The company aims to trade under the ticker $BZFD.
In the company’s announcement, Peretti stated, “Once we’re a public company later this year, BuzzFeed will be in an ideal position to hit the ground running thanks to our solid financial performance, the addition of Complex Networks, our newly constituted board, and now, Amita leading Investor Relations.”
