Checkout.com has appointed former Meta executive Meron Colbeci as its first-ever Chief Product Officer.
Colbeci will work from the company's headquarters in San Francisco and oversee the payments processing platform's product management, product operations and design functions worldwide.
Before accepting the new job, Colbeci worked as the Head of Consumer Product Management for Meta's Novi digital wallet. Before his time at Meta, Colbeci also brings considerable fintech experience from senior product roles at SoFi and PayPal.
In Checkout.com's press release, the company said Colbeci was drawn to the company's newly-created role due to its investments in alternative payment methods and emerging digital currency technologies, as well as its unique and differentiated vision for the future.
"At our core, we are passionate about the application of emerging technologies to solve real-world opportunities for enterprise merchants," said Checkout.com Founder and CEO Guillaume Pousaz stated. "Meron's experience as a close partner and customer at Novi—and his years with numerous other fintech leaders—means he's well-positioned to take our product efforts to the next level. I'm excited to partner with him as we push the boundaries of what's possible."
"Having worked with Checkout.com before, I had a good sense of how great the technology was and how capable the team was," said Colbeci. "As I spent more time with Guillaume and the rest of the leadership team, I was inspired by the focus on building customer-first technologies that will help democratize access to the digital economy."
Colbeci is the latest addition to Checkout.com's fast-growing executive team. In 2021, the company already added a CFO, CTO, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer.
