- Chewy Picks Up a New Marketing Chief ...
Chewy, the pet-focused e-commerce retailer, has announced the addition of Amazon veteran Mark Eamer as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
His new role will place Eamer in charge of the company's marketing strategy, partnerships and analytics, including full funnel customer growth, development, and go-to-market execution.
Eamer joins Chewy from Amazon, where he led advertising efforts for IMDb TV, Streaming TV, FireTV, and Alexa Devices. After joining the tech titan in 2000 as VP of Advertising, Product and Media, Eamer worked his way up to Worldwide VP of Product, Marketing and Personalization for Amazon Local. Prior to his time at Amazon, he served as Director of Marketing at Zillow.
In Chewy’s announcement, CEO Sumit Singh said, “From guiding emerging business units to transforming existing programs, Mark has displayed an impressive acumen for introducing digital platforms that elevate the customer experience, which remains our north star at Chewy.”
Chewy is coming off a period of massive growth, anchored by a spike in pet adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic, in fact last quarter the company recorded a 26.8% bump in sales.
“I have long-admired Chewy’s bold commitment to industry-shifting innovation, which is rooted in creating exceptional customer experiences that celebrate the full spectrum of the pet parent journey,” said Eamer. “I am honored to join a world-class organization and a visionary leadership team whose purpose-driven mission enhances the lives of millions of customers, and I look forward to applying my own passion for building disruptive customer obsessed marketing programs.”
