Cisco appointed Marianna Tessel to its Board of Directors on March 5, increasing its board size to 11 members. Cisco said in a press release on Friday that Tessel’s senior leadership experience in both technology and software “complements Cisco’s business strategy.” With more than 25 years of experience, her resume in senior leadership is quite extensive, too.
Tessel joined Intuit in 2017 and was responsible for Intuit’s Quickbooks product family. Prior to that, Tessel served both as SVP of Engineering and EVP of Strategic Development for Docker, where she developed partnerships and expanded the portfolio at the software containerization platform. Before that, she held the VP of Engineering role at VMware.
"We are excited to welcome Marianna to the Cisco Board," said chairman and CEO Chuck Robbins. "Marianna is known for creating a strong, transformational culture that accelerates innovation. Her successful track record delivering software solutions that solve challenges for businesses of all sizes will help shape Cisco's strategy for supporting our customers as they leverage digital capabilities to drive recovery and growth."
Cisco recently added to its board a few months ago when it appointed John D. Harris III, former CEO of Raytheon International, in January 2021.
