API platform company, Bloom Credit, has named David Breland as its General Counsel and Head of Risk and Compliance.

Breland previously served as the General Counsel of Simple Finance Technology Corp for two years. He has also worked at BBVA Compass, where he led the legal department of the company as SVP, Senior Corporate Counsel. Breland is a graduate of Samford University School of Law.

"David provides Bloom Credit with significant experience leading complex legal and regulatory compliance efforts for prominent players in the financial services industry," Christian Widhalm, Bloom Credit CEO said in a press release. "David will help accelerate our growth and commitment to responsibly simplifying access to credit data."

"The credit reporting system in the U.S. is complicated and —appropriately—highly-regulated. The Bloom Credit team is serious about simplifying the credit data environment for things like extension of credit, furnishment, and disputes, and I look forward to helping them do so" David Breland said in a statement.
