Disney Overhauls Media & Entertainment Distribution Technology Team

Disney has announced that the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution’s (DMED) Technology team been rearranged, along with some new hires and promotions, to better support Disney’s continued growth.

Disney has announced that the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution’s (DMED) Technology team been rearranged, along with some new hires and promotions, to better support Disney’s continued growth.

The segment, led by CTO Aaron LaBerge, is in charge of developing and sustaining the virtual ways in which Disney provides its content and connects with consumers. The entertainment giant’s realignment creates eight core groups within the thousand-strong DMED tech team: Advertising Platforms, Business Operations, Consumer Experiences & Platforms, Content Operations, Content Platforms, Design, Engineering Services, and Media Engineering.

To help lead these groups Oke Okaro, Jen Schwarz, and Mike White have all joined the company. Okaro will serve as SVP of Business Operations, Schwarz will take on the role of SVP of Engineering Services, and White will become the company’s SVP of Consumer Experiences & Platforms.

LaBerge has also tapped internal leaders for new key roles in DMED Technology, including Mike Andrews, who is now SVP of Content Platforms, Tagu Kato, who has becom VP of Design, Chris Lawson, who has been elevated to SVP Content Operations, and Michael Pollard, who has take on the role of SVP of Media Engineering. Jeremy Helfand will continue to oversee the group’s Ad Platforms team.
