DocuSign has announced that LegalShield's former Chief Marketing Officer, Cameron Scott, has joined its executive team as its first-ever Chief Communications Officer.
A veteran branding executive, Scott will work to streamline DocuSign’s global corporate, employee, and talent communications strategy. In the newly created role under COO Scott Olrich, Scott will also innovate the electronic signature and agreement cloud company’s external content.
"As we continue to grow, communications and content marketing are becoming increasingly critical to how we shape our culture, brand, products and overall business both internally and externally," Olrich explained. "The appointment of our first CCO signals the investment we're making to increase our global impact and showcase how we help our customers meet their digital transformation needs in more places."
Most recently, Scott spent the last year and a half in charge of LegalShield’s marketing efforts and had held the top brand and strategy roles at GoDaddy. Before that, he founded The Like Lab, a global brand strategy, creative, and social consultancy where he still serves as the Chief Strategist. He has also spent time in senior communications roles at Yahoo, Microsoft, and AT&T.
Scott joins as DocuSign’s remote signatory offerings have come front and center in a wide range of industries. Because of COVID-19, more companies now than ever before are shunning in-person signings in favor of digital tools due to local guidelines that have kept offices closed, personal preferences, or even logistical necessity when onboarding remote employees.
"With a meteoric rise in growth over the last 18 months and seemingly unlimited opportunity in front of DocuSign, it's a unique and exciting time to take on the CCO role," Scott said. "I'm excited to shape how we communicate our expanding value proposition globally and look at new ways communications and content can drive our brand and products forward for our employees, customers and partners."
