Her senior-level hire to Robinhood’s c-suite comes ahead of an anticipated initial public offering for the company that’s estimated to be valued at $11.7 billion.
Robinhood announced Thursday that Aparna Chennapragada has joined the company as its first-ever Chief Product Officer. In her new role, Chennapragada oversees all of Robinhood’s product, design, and research.
Chennapragada most recently served as the VP for Consumer Shopping at Google, where she led AR and visual search research. Before serving as VP, Chennapragada also led product, engineering, and design teams and has helped shape the company’s product strategy throughout her 12 years at Google, having a hand in product efforts for Google Assistant, Search, and Youtube. Prior to leading teams at Google, Chennapragada also served as the technical assistant to CEO Sundar Pichai.
Her senior-level hire to Robinhood’s c-suite comes ahead of an anticipated initial public offering for the company that’s estimated to be valued at $11.7 billion. Earlier this week, Robinhood revealed it’s buying the recruiting company Binc, doubling the size of its hiring team. Amdist all these changes, Chennapragada joins an executive team that’s pretty new, as Robinhood made a string of new executive hires in the past year.
“When I met Aparna, I was immediately struck by her passion for our product and delivering exceptional value to our customers,” said CEO and Co-Founder Vlad Tenev. “The vision for what Robinhood could do for the world became even clearer. I look forward to learning from Aparna as we build delightful product experiences and work towards democratizing finance for all.”
