HP has announced three new executives to lead its tech, legal, and strategy teams as it advances disruptive innovation. The tech company’s wide-reaching executive changes will come into effect on February 1 and each new role will report directly to CEO Enrique Lores.
Leading the charge will be Sarabjit Singh ('Savi') Baveja, who has accepted the role as HP’s Chief Strategy and Incubation Officer. This places him at the forefront of the tech company’s efforts to find new sources of growth and long-term value creation. Baveja, who joins HP from Bain & Company, will work closely with other HP leaders to identify, develop and launch new products, services, and business models with a focus on leveraging HP’s microfluidics technology to create disruptive new businesses and applications in the health and wellness space.
On the tech side, Tolga Kurtoglu has been hired as Chief Technology Officer and Global Head of HP Labs. The former Head of Global Research at Xerox will lead HP’s technology strategy and engagement with the technical and scientific communities. He will work closely with Baveja to innovate new technology through HP Labs, one of the world’s most preeminent industrial research laboratories.
And finally, Harvey Anderson has been promoted to be HP’s General Counsel, as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, replacing Kim Rivera, who will stay with the company as a special advisor to the CEO through 2021. Anderson joined HP in 2017 and steps up from his current position as the company's General Counsel.
In a press release on the company’s executive shakeup, Lores stated, “I am delighted to welcome Harvey to the HP executive leadership team. His wise counsel, sound judgment and strategic acuity will continue to serve us well as we deliver on our strategic priorities.”
He also welcomed Baveja and Kurtoglu, adding that they “each bring deep experience and expertise that support our strategy to advance HP’s leadership in Personal Systems and Print, disrupt new industries with our technology and intellectual property, and transform our company for the future.”
