Kaloom Hires Ex-IBM Exec to Lead Sales

Canada’s Kaloom has announced that it hired Marc Tremblay to serve as its Chief Sales Officer.

Tremblay joins the fully programmable and automated cloud-native edge center networking software provider to grow its sales team and build out the company’s go-to-market strategies in the 5G market. To do so he will tap into his more than 30 years of tech sales and leadership experience.

Before taking on his new challenge at Kaloom, Tremblay was an executive on VMware’s sales team, which he joined in January 2020 after the company acquired Pivotal, where he was leading the sales team. Before his stint with Pivotal, he spent 30 years at IBM, where he was the VP of its Communications Sector in addition to several management roles across multiple industries.

“We are looking forward to leveraging Marc’s background and experience in the technology sales market to help propel Kaloom forward in our revenue generation goals for the remainder of 2021 and beyond,” Kaloom President Stéphane Boisvert stated. “With the management of our global sales team his role will be vital to delivering on Kaloom’s vision of a fully programmable and automated distributed cloud edge propelled by 5G, AI and IoT by supporting our sales and marketing goals.”

Kaloom has so far raised $32.5 million in its Series A funding round. In May 2021, the company also announced that it was conducting active proof of concept trials with over 10 tier-one global communication service providers. It is also working with Telenor to integrate its 5G packet core UPF within the telecom company’s ecosystem of integrated partner solutions.
