Chief Digital and Marketing Officer of L’Oréal, Asmita Dubey, succeeded Lubomira Rochet in April this year, and is already beginning to make her mark as she explores ways to make cosmetics viral through online games, augmented reality and social media.
An Indian national with a Bachelor of Science from Delhi University and a Master of Marketing Economics and Management from the University of Lucknow, Dubey first joined L’Oréal in 2013 as Chief Marketing Officer for the cosmetic company’s Chinese chapter. She has since served in multiple leadership roles.
Now as Chief Digital and Marketing Officer, Dubey oversees all digital initiatives at the company. One particularly exciting new initiative that Dueby and her team are working on is exploring online gaming based revenue opportunities.
“It allows us to think of completely new business models [for] that community,” she told the Wall Street Journal.
Female gamers with a large social media presence will be hosting livestreams, and sharing the company’s products through product giveaways the Wall Street Journal reported.
“Bringing the best of product and services to billions of consumers is the end goal,” Dubey said. “A technology like augmented reality allows for those services to come.”
