Netflix has appointed Bela Bajaria as the head of television globally, making her the one executive who has oversight over all television shows at the world’s largest TV network.

Bajaria, who joined Netflix in 2016, currently serves as Vice President of Local Language Originals, where she oversees the creation of Netflix’s local-language original content in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, India, Asia and Latin America. She will now be in charge of all English and local-language original series.

The role will be the equivalent to Vice President of Original Films, Scott Stuber’s, who is responsible for all movies globally.

Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos was promoted to Co-CEO in July, and now shares the top spot with Co-CEO and Founder Reed Hastings. He is leading the reconfiguration of the leadership at the company’s entertainment operations, to simplify the structure.

The company also announced that Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland is leaving in October, after 18 years at the company. Holland is a key architect of the streaming giant’s original-content strategy, and helped develop leading shows like Orange is the New Black.

Bajaria began her career at CBS, where she worked in movies, miniseries and cable programming for 15 years. She moved to Universal Television in 2011, where she eventually became president of the studio. At Netflix, she was initially in charge of unscripted content, and then moved into international programming.
