Nokia Announces New President of Nokia Enterprise

Finnish telecommunications technology giant Nokia has announced that Kathrin Buvac, the President of the company’s B2B unit, Nokia Enterprise, will step down at the end of the month. Buvac will be replaced by Raghav Sahgal, the SVP of Nokia Software, on June 1.

Buvac is leaving Nokia to assume a leadership position at an unnamed global technology company. In her 13 year career at Nokia, she has held multiple leadership positions including Chief Strategy Officer and VP of Corporate Strategy. Buvac previously spent 7 years at Siemans and joined Nokia as part of a merger between the two companies.

As the President of Nokia Enterprise, Sahgal will lead Nokia’s team that provides enterprise networks, industrial automation, and digitalization solutions to customers in both the private and public sectors.

Sahgal, who joined Nokia in 2017, previously spent 7 years as the President of the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions for enterprise software firm NICE. Before joining NICE, Sahgal held executive and senior leadership positions at Oracle, Comverse, CSG, and Lucent, which is now owned by Nokia.

Nokia President and CEO Rajeev Suri said, “Kathrin has been with Siemens, Nokia Siemens Networks and then Nokia for close to 20 years, and I both understand and support her desire to take on a new challenge.”

Suri also stated, “Raghav has a demonstrated record of success in his current role in Nokia Software. I look forward to him joining the Group Leadership Team and building on the strong momentum and fast growth we have in the enterprise segment.”

In 2019, Nokia Enterprise posted €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) in revenue, up 18% year-over-year from 2018.
