Stephanie Ito, Paramount Pictures’ President of Post-Production, will leave the movie studio at the end of the week according to an internal memo obtained by Variety.
In addition to her studio role, she also serves as Executive Co-Chair for the Asian Media Professionals group at Paramount’s parent company, ViacomCBS.
Ito hasn't announced her next role yet, however, a source cited by Deadline said she may join a streaming company.
Ito, first joined the studio in 2006, and was the first female executive to hold the title at any major studio in Hollywood. While with Paramount Ito has overseen the post-production efforts on blockbusters like the Transformers franchise as well as Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and The Big Short. Before joining Paramount she worked in the post-production department at Dreamworks.
In a memo circulated to employees Ito wrote, “Thank you for working tirelessly, without ego, and toward a common purpose, particularly over this challenging last year. We have grown and become a richly diverse and inclusive family. Whether in the cutting room, on the dub stage, in the boardroom, or over dinner, we will meet again soon.”
In a separate note obtained by Deadline, Paramount Motion Picture Group President Emma Watts called Ito a pivotal leader and said, “We wish Stephanie the very best and look forward to watching her continued success.”
