Spinwheel announced that it’s hired Sean Anderson as its Head of Platform and Chief Operating Officer. He’s been an advisor for the company since 2019 and joins the consumer debt management platform a few months after it announced an $11 million seed funding round in May.
In his new role, Anderson will help grow and scale the business and drive the product roadmap as the company expands beyond its roots in student debt solutions to other debt categories.
Anderson brings an entrepreneurial and fintech background to Spinwheel. He previously co-founded Bento for Business, a commercial payments platform that enables cards, controls and payments for thousands of businesses via APIs, web and mobile apps. It was acquired by U.S. Bank last week.
Founded and headquartered in Oakland, California to help students manage and understand their debt, Spinwheel uses API and no code drop-in modules to help its users navigate their debt decisions through a combination of data, intelligence, management and payments.
"We're passionate about improving the financial outcomes of Americans by offering the best consumer debt API platform," said CEO and co-founder Tomás Campos. "We've built the easiest way to add student debt repayment and optimization to any app or service and are expanding these offerings quickly. Sean has a proven track record building and scaling fintech platforms to support broad markets and varied use cases. I'm thrilled to have him join our leadership team and help us execute against this vision."
