1. Netflix Hires Former PepsiCo HR Chief as Chief Talent Officer
Sergio Ezama has joined the team at Netflix as its Chief Talent Officer after 20 years at PepsiCo. He will start his new role in September and will lead the streaming service’s human resources, recruiting, culture and coaching teams.
2. Coinbase Recruits Ex-Facebook Brand and Product Marketing Head as CMO
Kate Rouch has been selected to serve as Coinbase’s new Chief Marketing Officer, the company’s President and COO, Emilie Choi, announced on Thursday. At the crypto platform, Rouch will be responsible for all the company’s global brand, product and performance marketing efforts.
3. Cerner Hires Google’s Health VP as Its Next CEO
Cerner has announced that Dr. David Feinberg will succeed Brent Shafer as the health information technology company’s CEO on October 1. Shafer’s decision to step away from the company has also spurred Cerner to name William Zollars as its new Independent Chairman.
4. Lordstown Motors Names New CEO After Preorder Scandal
Lordstown Motors named its new CEO this morning, filling the role that had been vacant since June 2021. Effective immediately, the embattled electric vehicle (EV) startup will be led by Daniel Ninivaggi, who has also been appointed as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
5. Mercedes-Benz Names a Software Chief to Steer Its Digital Future
Daimler has revealed that Sajjad Khan, the CTO and leader of Mercedes-Benz Cars Connectivity, Autonomous, Shared & Services, and Electric (CASE) unit, has left the company. In his place, the German auto titan has appointed Magnus Östberg to take on the mantle as the company’s Chief Software Officer, effective September 1.

Data-to-everything platform Splunk has recruited former U.S. Navy and Citibank cybersecurity veteran, Pamela Fusco as its new Chief Information Security Officer, effective immediately. Fusco will be reporting to Shawn Bice, the President of Products and Technology.

CloudBees has appointed Peter Meechan as Chief Corporate Development Officer and Jinny Jun as Chief People Officer. The duo follow a growing list of new c-suite executives who have joined the company since the onset of 2021. Over the past year, CloudBees has added a new CEO, CMO, and CISO.

Utah-based property management software provider Entrata has named Chris Harrington as its new Chief Revenue Officer. He joins Entrata at the right time to leverage the company’s recently closed $507 million funding round. The company plans to pursue an aggressive go-to-market strategy including international expansion, placing Harrington’s marketing and sales teams at the forefront of the company’s growth efforts.

Mason, which is creating managed infrastructure for developing and delivering dedicated smart devices, has revealed that CEO Jim Xiao will step aside and allow the company’s President, Nancy Xiao, to take the reins.
10. Student Debt Startup Spinwheel Hires Sean Anderson as its Head of Platform and COO
Spinwheel announced that it’s hired Bento for Business Co-Founder Sean Anderson as its Head of Platform and Chief Operating Officer. Anderson has been an advisor for the startup since 2019 and joins the executive team a few months after it announced an $11 million seed funding round.
